WELLINGTON maintained their 100 per cent record in the Under 16 section of the Taunton and District Sunday League by beating­ leaders Bridgwater Wolves on Sunday afternoon.

But the game was marred by an incident towards the end of the first half when Jack Whelan, who had scored twice to put Wellington 2-0 up, received a head injury which required hospital treatment. A Bridgwater player involved in the incident was sent off.

Ollie Holman clinched the points for Wellington by scoring both his side’s second half goals.

Victory means Wellington are now only three points behind Wolves, who lost their 100 per cent record, and have two matches in hand. Wellington have no game this weekend.
