WELLINGTON Wanderers AFC’s Under 11s produced a confident and committed display against Exmouth, delivering a performance full of energy, teamwork, and determination, which resulted in a slender 1-0 victory.

From the opening whistle, Wellington set the tone, pressing high and moving the ball with plenty of purpose. Their bright start immediately put Exmouth on the back foot, and the Wanderers’ intensity never dipped throughout the entire match.

Across the pitch, Wellington showed real strength in what was a challening match. The defensive unit stayed organised and disciplined, dealing calmly with Exmouth’s forward breaks and building play from the back.

In midfield, the Wanderers worked tirelessly, winning second balls, linking play, and driving the team forward with sharp passing and clever movement. Out on the flanks, the team stretched the game well, creating space and opportunities in the final third of the Park.

The breakthrough came through Louis M, who capped off a strong individual performance with the game’s only goal in a match which was tightly fought throughout.

What stood out most was the collective effort of the lads which eventually paid dividents with a successful result. Every player contributed, every player battled, and every player rose to the occasion making this a real team effort. It was a display built on communication, and a willingness to work for one another—exactly the qualities that define this Wellington side.

The Wanderers would like to say a big thank to Roadchef, who are the team’s kit sponsor, and R&M Motors, who are the ball sponsor, for their continued support of the Wanderers. The team would also like to thank the parents and supporters who turn up for every one of their games. It is much appreciated by the youngsters.
