WELLINGTON A, who were top of Division Two in the Taunton Saturday Football League when the season ended in March because of Covid-19, are still waiting to hear whether they are promoted.

“We had the easier run-in of the top three sides, so I think we would have won the league,” said player-manager Luke O’Hara. “We would be gutted if we were not promoted.

“We’re still waiting to hear whether our Seward Cup final against Castlemoat Reserves will also be played. I understand the league are keen to play their cup finals.”

O-Hara, who ran the side last season with Will Hammond, added: “I would like to thank all the players who’ve played for me this season. With such a young squad they’ve been brilliant and I hope for them we do get promoted to the top division.

“For me, personally, I’m doing workouts, exercising regularly and trying to get myself as fit as I was ten years ago. All I know is when things are back to normal and ‘safe’ the boys will be buzzing and back together ready to go.”
