WELLINGTON have a vital three-match run on the road in which they desperately need points if they are to have any chance of moving away from the relegation zone in the Premier Division of the Toolstation Western League.
Things do not look good for the Tangerine Army at present and they fell to a third successive defeat on Saturday when they went down 1-0 at home to Brislington who sneaked a winner in stoppage-time.
Wellington travel to face Tavistock on Wednesday (March 11) and then visit Bradford Town on Saturday (March 14) before going to Bridport next Tuesday (March 17).
But - looking at the table - and you have to fear the worst as Tavistock are currently second in the division and Bradford are third.
Wellington will, however, be hopeful of getting something from their trip to Bridport who are only five points above them in the table.
They have 11 games in which to stage their own Great Escape from relegation and will be eyeing some of those up as ones which they could fancy their chances.
Wellington play host to 16tth-placed Cribbs on March 25 and entertain 19th-placed Chipping Sodbury on April 1. And they also face Bridport at home on April 10.
But winning is not easy for Wellington and their last three-point haul came way back on October 12 and a 5-0 mauling of basement side Odd Down.
Wellington will cling to hope that the season can be turned around - whether it come via a freak goal or a shocking refereeing decision.
Assistant manager Alex Pope will continue to run the show for the next couple of games with manager Tim Legg away in South Africa.
Pope has already said that Wellington can stay up and it does not need saying that just a little bit of Lady Luck could help them.
