WELLINGTON’S football manager Tim Legg says he wants to become ‘a regular top ten side’ in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League.

“This has always been my aim ever since I came to the club,” said Legg, who has played Southern League soccer for Taunton and Bridgwater Town.

“We don’t want to be up in the premier division one minute and down in the first division the next.

“I am confident that we can achieve this with the players we have. I became manager last season at an awkward time. We were not doing well and confidence was low.

“But I know the players are good enough. Winning games is the answer but it became a ‘mind thing’ last season. We got close to winning matches but sometimes lost them late on.

“Our biggest problem last season was scoring goals. I think we have players who can score goals but it’s a question of how we go about it. We have to change our style of play.”

Wellington were involved in a relegation fight last season before the season came to an abrupt end because of the Covid-19 virus and it was decided there would be no promotion and relegation.
