MENTAL health charity Mind in Somerset attended Wellington AFC’s home game against Bradford Town on Saturday to carry out a bucket collection and help raise awareness of mental health support across the county.
The charity was at the Carly Press Ground before and during the match, giving supporters the opportunity to donate and learn more about the services Mind in Somerset provides to people experiencing mental health challenges.
Alison Baker, from Mind in Somerset, said: “We collected nearly £100 and are very grateful to Wellington AFC for supporting us and helping to raise awareness around mental health.
“Football clubs play such an important role in their communities, and opportunities like this help us start conversations, reduce stigma, and let people know that support is available – as well as raising much needed funds.”
Alison said Mind in Somerset would like to thank the supporters of both sides for their generosity and for helping to shine a light on mental health.
