WELLINGTON United Under 13s travelled to Minehead after a great two-game goal haul only to be met by a very strong, well drilled Minehead team.

From the whistle Minehead started strong on the offensive, catching the Utd boys off guard, forcing a corner within the first two minutes, the Utd boys scrambling to make the clearance but unfortunately conceding an own goal.

Wellington tried to bounce back but the hosts were proving a bit of a problem with their great movement, constant pressing, which resulted in another goal for the home side within a few minutes.

The visitors did respond around 15 minutes in and the game levelled out a little with Wellington giving as good as they got. Unfortunately, despite numerous attempts at goal, the Utd boys just could not find the back of the net, largely due to great defensive play and a keeper that was not prepared to have a goal put past him.

Minehead continued with some great link ups and managed to bag another shortly before the break to lead 3-0 at half time.

A few changes at the break and the Tangerines came out giving their best but once again failing to capitalise on chances. Tthe hosts, ever pressing, managed to find a way past again and netted another sending the Welly boys heads down but the boys kept fighting on in what was proving to be a real challenging match.

The hosts conceded a penalty which was nicely taken but unfortunately their show-stopping keeper saved the spot-kick with the Minehead boys getting to the rebound first and making the all important clearance.

With the pressure on and the hosts on a high their game just proved too much for the Utd boys and once again the visitors conceded another own goal which sealed the mood and ended the game 5-0.
