WELLINGTON crashed out of the Les Phillips Cup last night (Wed), losing 3-1 at home to Clevedon Town who go into the quarter-finals.
However, it means Wellington can now concentrate on pulling away from near the bottom of the table. They are in 17th place but have games in hand on teams around them.
After a goalless first half, Clevedon took the lead in the 57th minute through a headed goal by Alex Camm, but Wellington equalised eight minutes later when Nathan Byrne's cross was deflected into his own net by Glen Heyer.
Nat Groom put Clevedon ahead again in the 81st minute and Ethan Feltham clinched a quarter-final place for Clevedon with an 89th minute goal.
