WELLINGTON Town fought out a 3-3 away draw against Middlezoy Rovers Harriers in the Under 15 section of the Taunton & District Youth Football League.

In a lively first quarter, which saw both sides have early attempts on goal, it was Middlezoy who looked the most likely to grab the opener - Town's stand-in keeper Leo M-D with two early saves inside the opening 15 minutes.

The hosts finally got their reward on the 20 minute mark, a headed goal from a throw-in finding the inside corner to give Harriers the lead. Middlezoy doubled their advantage moments later, a defensive mix-up allowing a simple tap-in to further compound Welly's misery.

But Wellington - full of fight and resolve - roared back with some outstanding attacking play. And after Zac F came close on the half hour mark, a quick thinking throw in from Jack B saw Fletcher L through on goal and he was able to draw a goal back just before the break.

With their tails up, Town were in an attacking mood - Reece B firing just over moments after the restart. And on 46 minutes, Welly had their equaliser courtesy of an outstanding long range strike from Fletcher L

Fletcher L then completed his hat-trick minutes later, a looping strike evading the keeper to give Welly a deserved 3-2 lead. Jack B almost doubled the visitors lead - a last ditch clearance from a Middlezoy defender denying the Wellington winger.

Wellington, who continued to dominate territory and possession, looked to put the game to bed - Reece B and Zac F coming the closest to extending the visitors lead. But Middlezoy weren't done. A long range strike on 65 minutes - against the run of play - gave the hosts an unexpected equaliser. A cagey final quarter saw both sides come close to finding a winner.
