WELLINGTON Wildcats U11s delivered a great display of football against their North Curry counterparts over the past weekend, demonstrating determination, teamwork and skill from start to finish. They fought hard for every ball, kept organised and made vital tackles. They combined composure with creativity to keep North Curry on their toes, while keeping the pressure on with clever runs to test the opposition goalkeeper. Communication and effort stood out, culminating in a disciplined team performance. Betsy P earned Player of the Match for her relentless work rate.

Under 12s vs Ilminster: The U12s faced Ilminster in challenging conditions. They scored first through Sara M after a long free kick from Maria G, followed by her second from Lola R’s superb throw-in. However, playing uphill proved tough and Ilminster’s pressure resulted in a hat-trick from their right winger, turning the game around. Millie G was awarded Player of the Match for her consistent effort and excellent through balls.

Under 13s vs Minehead: The U13s reached the halfway point of their season with a top of the table clash against Minehead. Wildcats executed their game plan perfectly, neutralising the opposition’s threats. Bella W confidently scored a penalty after Amelia S was fouled, and later she curled in a superb shot from Iyla J’s pressing. Amelia S sealed the victory with a cool finish in the final minutes. Player of the Match: Amelia W, for her relentless work rate and determination in defence.

Under 14s vs Wessex Youth: The U14s had a slow start, falling 2-0 early after goals from a scramble and a sliced clearance. Despite this setback, the girls showed great spirit and determination, pulling one back through Flo N’s relentless attitude. Cheyenne C nearly scored, and Maisie W went close with a solo effort denied by the keeper. Flo N then completed her hat-trick, finishing calmly after good play in midfield. The Wildcats took control, managing the game well, with Sally F-T leading the defence. The match was sealed when Hallie S-H scored a stunning 30-yard strike. With less than five minutes remaining, they finished strongly, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and great fighting spirit to secure a 4-2 victory.

Under 16s vs Minehead: After a two-week break, the Wildcats Under-16s returned with a commanding 8–1 victory against Minehead. Emilia S scored five goals, with Lola H adding two and Orlaith C completing the scoring. The team played with attacking flair, hitting the crossbar and upright multiple times. Defensively, Darcy B, Julia R, and Flo S were solid, while goalkeeper Jasmine S, named Player of the Match, made outstanding saves. In midfield, Erin C, Peaches M, Ella D, and McKayla H drove the team forward and linked play superbly; McKayla also earned Opposition Player of the Match for her effort. Overall, it was a fantastic team performance full of energy, teamwork, and great football, setting a confident tone for the rest of their season.

Meanwhile, Wildcats Under 11s will be back in action on Saturday November 8, when they play away to Bishops Lydeard in South Division.

Wildcats U12s play Martock Rovers at Dobree Park (10.30a.m.), while the Under 13s are away to Minehead.

Wildcats U4s play away to Winscombe while the Under 15s entertain Sporting Weston in the cup at Court Fields (9.30.am.).

The Under 16s face Paulton Rovers - also at Court Fields (11.30a.m.).
