WELLINGTON Wildcats enjoyed another action-packed weekend of football across all age groups in the Somerset Girls League, with every team displaying passion, determination, and remarkable teamwork, with each squad continuing to grow in confidence and skill with every match.

The Under 11s delivered an excellent performance against a strong Bridgwater United side, showing grit, energy and superb teamwork from start to finish. They pressed high, defended bravely and supported each other across the pitch. The defence stayed solid and calm, midfielders linked play with composure and the forwards created several great chances. Every player gave maximum effort, displaying growing confidence and unity with each game. Player of the Match went to Ellah W for her committed and influential display in another impressive all-round team effort.

The Under 13s faced Bishops Lydeard in what turned out to be a competitive and intense encounter. Wildcats started strongly and immediately put their opponents under pressure, taking a well-deserved lead through Bella W, who showed quick reactions to tuck away a loose ball. Soon after, Bella threaded a perfect pass to Amelia S, who finished superbly to make it 2–0 by halftime. Bishops Lydeard fought back after the break, but the defence was superb, with Player of the Match Peyton A producing a commanding performance to keep the visitors largely at bay. A late Lydeard goal set up a tense finale five minutes, but the Wildcats held firm to secure a 2–1 win, maintaining their unbeaten run and sitting proudly in second place in the Somerset County Girls League Division 1.
