WELLINGTON Wildcats Under 11s faced a tough test against last year’s U10 festival winners Street.
From the start it was a physical and intense match but the Wildcats rose to the challenge. Every player gave their all, going toe-to-toe in every area of the pitch. The defense held strong, and both goalkeepers made brave, crucial saves under pressure. Despite the result not going their way, the team showed real character, teamwork, and determination throughout.
A special mention goes to Lauren P who was everywhere on the pitch, led by example and earned a well-deserved Player of the Match award. It was a proud performance from the whole team.
The Wildcats U12s continued their strong form with an impressive team performance against Pen Mill. They started brightly with Hetty setting up Millie and scoring the opener herself. Emilia netted a powerful first goal, then added two more to complete her hat-trick. Millie also grabbed a hat-trick, showing great composure throughout. Sara added a fine finish after a smart pass from Hetty and Georgie rounded things off with a calm strike from Sara’s cross. Pen Mill managed one long-range goal, ending captain Remi’s clean sheet run, but the Wildcats responded with style. The defence: Maria, Maja, Amy, Isla, Lola and Stevie were solid and hardworking, allowing the attackers to shine. Special mention to Summer H whose energy and composure in midfield earned her a well deserved Player of the Match.
The Wildcats U13s travelled to Shepton Mallet for a clash between two league champions and the game didn’t disappoint. Shepton started strongly but composed defending from Peyton, Emily and Evelyn kept them at bay. Once settled the Wildcats midfield of Darcey, Poppy, Summer, Mary and Scarlett began to control the game, creating chances in a tightly contested first half that ended 0–0. The breakthrough came 15 minutes into the second half with a clever short-corner routine: Poppy rolled the ball to Mary whose pinpoint cross was smashed in at the back post by Madeline. From there, the Wildcats dug deep. Edie and Alexis worked hard in midfield, while Amelia, Bella and Iyla pressed high. The team’s resilience and togetherness earned them a deserved 1–0 win, a brilliant all-round performance.
Wildcats U16s hosted Portishead Pumas on Saturday, aiming to extend their winning streak—and they did so in style. Emilia S scored twice in the opening five minutes and had a hat-trick inside 15, with further goals from Orlaith C and Mckayla H making it 5-0 within 20 minutes. Emilia added two more before halftime for a 7-0 lead. Portishead responded with three second-half goals, but Emilia struck again to seal her double hat-trick. A late goal from Portishead made the final score 8-4. Strong defensive work from debutants Jess B and Darcey B helped keep control, while Isla C earned Player of the Match for her tireless midfield performance. A dominant team display and another great result for the Wildcats.
