WELLINGTON Fox’s Hockey Club, formed two years by Gary Beasley and Sarah Browne, has grown rapidly and caters for both junior and adult members.
And over a busy summer period it was decided to take the next step and become a constituted club with England Hockey and that has meant forming a new committee to oversee the growth of the club.
This has now been achieved and the club have plans to continue to grow and are investing in more qualified coaches, more equipment and have set up a new club website. They also train on a new artificial turf pitch at Wellington school.
Training is held every Tuesday evening. Sessions run for juniors between 6-7 and also for drop and play which is for adults of children who are playing at that time or for adults who wish to return to hockey after a break. Adults then also have a dedicated training session between 7-8.
Chairman Marc Box said: “We would love to grow our membership and would welcome new players of any age to come along and try the game. We can also provide hockey sticks if you would don’t have your own.”
