OAKE Manor Golf Club ladies played a Texas Scramble. The winning team were Ladies captain Sally Jackson and two past Ladies captains Jenny Swann and Patricia Frazer, who scored 64.8. Their excellent score was helped by Patricia Frazer having a hole in one on the 16th hole. Second were Jenny Musgrove, Jeanette Jones and Susie Pitt with 67.5, and third were Nancy Marshall, Sue Corlett and Sammie Westmacott with 69.3.
Former Somerset cricketer Ian Blackwell scored 36 points to win the Friday Stableford Competition, Kevin Burt came second with 35 points, Ollie Barratt was third with 34 points and Taunton Town goalkeeper Lloyd Irish was fourth with 32 points.
Jill Loader was the runaway winner of the Ladies Sunday Stableford Competition, scoring 42 points, 11 points ahead of second-placed Kayleigh Avey on 31 points. Suzanne Reed was third, also with 31 points, and Kathy Salway was fourth with 30 points.
In the Men’s Sunday Medal Competition Matthew Croker scored an excellent nett 65 to win Division One, three shots ahead of Thomas Bordier in second with nett 68, Thomas Horsey came third with nett 69 and Tim Day was fourth with nett 70. Antony Keitch won Division Two scoring nett 70. The next three players all scored nett 71 and on count-back Sam Hallett came second, David Rossillo was third and Ben Gamlin fourth.
Paul Scribbins has won the Seniors Grandads Cup. Paul scored 43 points to win Division One of the Seniors Monday Stableford Competition, Mike Eastmond was second with 41 points, Gary Jackson was third with 39 points and Dave Free was fourth with 38 points. Simon Lambrechts scored 43 points to win Division Two. The next three players all scored 38 points and on count-back Robert Davies came second, Frank Dennis third and Eddie Hennessy fourth.
Phillip Smith won the Wednesday Midweek Stableford, scoring 41 points, Ian Blackwell was again in the prizes coming second with 40 points, Ross Thomas came third with 38 points and Greg Scribbins was fourth with 36 points.
