TAUNTON Racecourse has just signed up to The Jockey Club’s RacePass 18to24 initiative, which offers 18 to 24-year-olds half price entry in any enclosure to go racing. writes Richard Walsh.
Taunton becomes the first racecourse to do so outside of Jockey Club Racecourses.
RacePass 18to24 was launched in November to ensure cost is not a barrier to young adults attending racedays.
Eighteen to 24 year-olds simply need to sign up for free at www.RacePass18to24.co.uk to take advantage of the offer, which in 2017 applies to more than 300 fixtures scheduled at the Jockey Club’s 15 racecourses nationwide and now all 15 of Taunton’s racedays.
Once 18 to 24-year-olds have their card, they can use this when booking in advance or upon entry at racedays to receive half-price entry.
For feature days passholders are encouraged to book in advance online to avoid disappointment.
Bob Young, Chief Executive of Taunton Racecourse, said: “For some time Taunton has been exploring ways to encourage more young people into racing and this scheme will help us to do just that.”
