WELLINGTON side Moortown produced a thumping display to beat Northwalls United 6-0 in the first round of the Somerset Sunday League's Gardner Cup.
Moortown took the lead after only 20 seconds when James Conway smashed a superb shot into the top corner from 20 yards.
The home side dominated the rest of half without adding to their score, more down to excellent goalkeeping from Northwalls and a lack of clinical finishing from Moortown.
The second half produced a goalfest which had been threatened in the first half with Ben Evett adding the second and Dylan Groves the third and Joey Conway the fourth.
Once again Northwalls' keeper kept the score down with a number of fine saves. Tom Davies and Lewis Pocock completed the scoring near the final whistle.
