PHEW. . .Tiverton Foxhounds' big point to point yesterday (Sun) went ahead despite freezing conditions earlier in the week.

The event at Chipley Park, near Milverton, attracted a good crowd, but down on last year because of the bad weather.

"The problem we had was there was still frost in the ground," said event secretary Liz Dorse. "We had to postpone last year because of frost.

"In the end it was a great afternoon with plenty of good racing. But it was a close-run thing. . .we just managed to get through the card before the wind got up.

"I would like to thank everyone who supported us, particularly the point to point trainers."
