WELLINGTON Rugby Football Club have announced that Bradley Field will be their new head coach for the 25/26 season.

In a statement the club says: “Brad has been assistant coach, and will now take on the lead coaching role for the forthcoming season. We are also pleased Brad has agreed to put his boots back on and play when required. To have someone of Brad’s experience to both coach and play is a huge plus for WRFC.

“Brad started his rugby journey with Wellington RFC at Under-5s and progressed through every age group to reach the First XV.

“Brad represented England Students, enabling him to showcase his skills at a national level while still in education. Brad’s skills were soon recognized by Bath Rugby Academy, where he continued his development at an elite level. Brad went onto represent Hartpury College RFC and soon he earned a place with Gloucester Rugby.

“Brad also made his mark on the 7s circuit, bringing his usual combative nature to the shorter format of the game for teams such as Woodenspoon 7s and North Wales Exiles 7s.

“Brad ended his professional career with Doncaster Knights, where he regularly turned out in the RFU Championship before stepping back to run his own business 'Somersetk9services'.

Brad said: 'I’m incredibly happy and excited to be taking on the role of Club/Head Coach and player at Wellington. It’s a real privilege to be part of a club with such strong roots and potential, and I’m looking forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

“We have a young, enthusiastic group of players who are eager to learn, grow, and compete. I’ll be bringing a fresh style of play to the Athletic Ground, tailored to the strengths of this talented squad. Consistency will be key this season—both in our performances and in our approach to training.”
