WELLINGTON will be chasing their first rugby win of the season when they play at home to Penzance & Newlyn in Regional Two South West on Saturday, October 4 (3p.m.).
Wellington have not played since they lost 21-12 away to Crediton a fortnight ago, having held a 12-7 half-time lead before conceding two converted tries in the second half.
"It was a game we should have won,” said head coach Bradley Field. "We took our foot off the gas after the first 25 minutes.
"It is very much a new team this season and the lads are getting to know each other. But it is a long season - there's plenty of time in which to get things right."
Field missed the game against Crediton with a shoulder injury and is a doubt for the game against Penzance who also lost their last match 34-17 at home to Wadebridge Camels.
Penzance are lying ninth in the table, while Wellington are 11th and still to pick up a point this season.
Field admitted he does not know much about Penzance but added: "We need to focus on ourselves and not worry about other teams."
Wellington 2nd XV also have a home fixture on Saturday - against Wells who have won their opening two matches and share top spot with Tor.
Like the first team, the 2nd XV have yet to win a game, having lost to Chard (31-25) and Wiveliscombe (39-12).
Meanwhile, Wiveliscombe are back in action when they play at home to Penryn in Counties Western West with both teams having collected six points from their opening two matches. Wivelscombe have also beaten Bridgwater & Albion in a cup game.
Wiveliscombe 2nd XV are away to Hornets’ third string in Counties Three Somerset South, both teams having won and lost a fixture.
