WELLINGTON School has announced that it is welcoming Dorian Jones to its rugby coaching team, adding significant professional experience to their programme.
Jones brings an impressive playing career to his new role, having made over 60 appearances for the Gwent Dragons, including two European Challenge Cup semi-finals.
His experience also spans the English Premiership with Worcester Warriors, five seasons in France’s Pro D2, where he scored over 700 points, and most recently, a spell in Major League Rugby with NOLA Gold in the United States.
A natural fly-half and fullback, Dorian will focus on coaching the school’s backline players across all age groups and will lead the attack for the first XV in the upcoming season.
Speaking about his appointment, Jones said: “It’s a real honour to be part of a school with such a rich rugby tradition. I am looking forward to working with a talented group of young players and helping them grow both on and off the field.
“There is a huge amount of potential here and I can’t wait to get started.”
Wellington School’s head of rugby, Will Garrett, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dorian Jones to the Wellington School rugby coaching team. His wealth of professional experience, both as a player and coach, will add real value to what is already a strong and ambitious rugby programme.
“Dorian’s insight and knowledge of the modern game will be an enormous asset as we continue to develop our players and inspire them to reach their full potential.”
