A PRESENTATION has been made to Ted MacKenzie to mark his 50 years of voluntary service to Wellington Rugby Club.

He was presented with a caricature of himself by club president Greg Dyke and John Dunbar, chairman.

During the last 50 years Ted has given sterling service to the club - as a player, starting with the Colts and graduating to the senior sides and then as a long standing member of the Management Committee.

The president said: “It’s difficult to think of a job within the club that Ted has not been involved in – he has washed shirts, cleaned buildings, helped with catering, served as Membership Secretary, Bar Manager and driven the bus.

“Until recently he has been present at the Club in one capacity or another on a daily basis. He continues to help out regularly and the club are grateful for his time and commitment - and the understanding of his wife Lynette and family - during all those years.
