WITH no competitive traditional rugby on the horizon for some time to come Wellington Rugby Club will be running an inter-club 7-10 aside touch rugby tournament featuring senior players and U18s tomorrow ‘International Super Saturday. ‘

The event is due to start at midday with the first International KOs at 2.15. This will be run in line with the RFU “Ready4Rugby” campaign.

The bar will be open afterwards, again in line with the current guidelines i.e. tables of six. These tables will need to be booked in advance.

For more information contact the club on 01823 663758 or via social media.

Meanwhile, Wiveliscombe held a touch tournament last weekend which was very successful. “The idea is to stage one every fortnight to keep players interested,” said the club’s chairman Jake Sharland.

“We’re also managing to keep the clubhouse open every Saturday and it has been at full capacity. Training continues on either a Tuesday or Wednesday and we have had good numbers – between 20 and 25.”
