WIVELISCOMBE Rugby Club have made progress in their bid to find a new head coach and chairman.
“We have two external candidates who are interested in the coaching job,’ said the club’s director of rugby, Jake Sharland, this week.
“We’re looking to strengthen the side so someone from outside would be in a better position to bring in new players. But it is not easy because, like all rugby clubs, we’ve no idea when the season will start.
“Someone from within the club has also put themselves forward to become chairman and this will be discussed at the club’s annual meeting next month.”
Wiveliscombe, who will again be playing in Western Counties West, are looking to replace first team coaches Peter and Brian Stone who quit at the end of last season.
They are looking for a new chairman to take over from Garry Sharland.
