WELLINGTON will be chasing their third successive victory in Regional Two South West tomorrow (Sat) when they play at home to Wadebridge (2.30p.m.).

Having won successive games against Chard and North Petherton, Wellington go into tomorrow's match with a spring to their step, particularly after running riot in the second-half against Pethy, piling up 57 points after the interval.

However, after losing 24-7 at Wadebridge in mid-November, Wellington will not be afforded the luxury of a sluggish first half as was the case against Petherton last weekend. Admittedly, there was a vast improvement after the interval, but Wadebridge will be a tougher nut to crack.

"We gave away far too penalties against Petherton in the first half," said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. "There was too much start and go stuff in the first half - it was hit and miss. There was no rhythm - we failed to get our game-plan going.

"When all said and done, we have to be happy with the way we punished Petherton in the second half.

"They could not deal with the way the boys wanted to play in the second half. It was very pleasing considering the way we lost at Petherton. We were robbed."

Wellington go into tomorrow's game sixth in the table - up one place compared to the previous weekend - while Wadebridge are third, but 19 points behind the leaders St Austell who have lost only one of their 18 matches this season.

St Austell will be the visitors to the Athletic Ground tomorrow week.

Wellington 2nd XV, who chalked up a 72-0 win over Wells on the Beech Grove pitch in Counties Three Somerset South last weekend, will be chasing a double tomorrow when they play away to Hornets 3rds XV who lost 19-9 at the Athletic Field in November.
