WELLINGTON AFC’s first team made their second wasted journey of the season on Saturday, January 10.
They were due to play away to third-placed Paulton Rovers in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League, with the pitch having passed a morning inspection.
But the match referee arrived and, after looking at the pitch, called the game off ahead of kick-off.
The Tangerines suffered a similar fate in November when they made a fruitless journey into Cornwall to play St Austell.
The latest postponement was one of several games which fell victim of the bad weather in the Jewson League, with only three games played in the Premier Division.
Leaders Clevedon Town gained a big 11-0 home win over AFC St Austell who suffered their 23rd loss in 23 matches.
Meanwhile, Wellington Reserves’ home game against East Budleigh in the Premier Division of the Devon & Exeter League on Saturday (Jan 10) was also frozen off at the Carly Press Ground.
