WELLINGTON’S head coach Bradley Field, who took charge in the summer, has admitted: “It is proving to be a very tough season.”

Wellington, who have lost all eight of their matches in Regional Two South West, return after a fortnight’s break to play at home to third-placed Winscombe (2.30).

“We simply do not hold on to the ball long eough,” said Field this week. “We are also making far too many unforced errors.

“We have lost a lot of players from last season, for one reason or another, and they have not been replaced. We are especially short of ball carriers.”

Top match of the day in the division is at Weston super Mare where the 100 per cent leaders play Ivybridge who are lying in fourth place and have lost only three times this season.

Weston have won all eight of their games and have an eight-point lead over second-placed Tiverton who play away to Penzance & Newlyn.
