WELLINGTON look to end a three-week enforced rugby break when they play away to Plymouth Albion Oaks in the Cornwall and Devon League on Saturday.

Both their last two matches have been postponed because of waterlogged grounds, the latest being over the weekend when Wellington were scheduled to play at home to Plymouth Argaum.

Wellington would have been chasing a double against Argaum, having beaten them 50-0 away earlier this season.

“We were disappointed the game was called off but we had no choice,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. “The clubhouse corner was extremely wet and the pitch would have cut up badly if we had played.

“We could have done untold damage to the pitch if we had gone ahead with the game.”

With leaders Saltash’s game at Tavistock also postponed, Wellington remain three points behind the Cornish side, both teams having played the same number of games.

Four players who would not have played against Argaum - Ryan Marke (calf), Harry Ramsay (knee), Danny Lee (unwell) and Nev Pitman (knee) - could all be available to play against Oaks.

But former skipper Micky Norman, who has a hamstring injury, is ruled out.

Wellington are on a 12-match unbeaten run and have not lost for over four months.
