WELLINGTON will be chasing their 13th successive rugby victory when they play away to Pirates Amateurs in the Cornwall and Devon League on Saturday.

This winning run includes the cancelled game against Hayle just before Christmas. Wellington were awarded all five points for this game and under new RFU rules Hayle will have to forfeit ground advantage for the return and play the game at the Athletic Field.

Wellington, who are lying second in the table and trail leaders Saltash by three points, will be looking to chalk up a double against Pirates, having beaten them 94-7 in late September.

“Pirates have recruited since then so we are expecting a much tougher game,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland.

Wellington also have a few injury problems. Micky Norman, Ryan Marke and Harry Ramsey were all injured in Saturday’s 24-10 home win over Penryn, and only Ramsey is likely to be fit.
