WELLINGTON, winners of their opening two matches in Western Counties West, will field an injury-free squad for Saturday’s away match against Falmouth.
George Hodgson, Can Venn and Tyler Hart will all be back in contention after missing the 51-24 home win over Cullompton over the weekend - a match which attracted a big crowd.
The Cornish side have lost both their two games to date but are always difficult to beat on their own ground.
“Two wins is a good start - but we must not get ahead of ourselves,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland.
“We played some really good rugby and Cullompton were kept under the cosh for much of the game.”
Wellington are currently one of three teams at the top of the table with nine points, the others being Bideford and St Austell.
Meanwhile Wiveliscombe, who bounced back to winning form with a 34-24 home win over Saltash, will still not be at full strength for their away game against Chard who have so far yet to get off the mark.
However, the South Somerset side ran Wellington close on their ground in the first match of the new season, losing only 20-16.
Wivey coach Peter Stone felt there were a ‘lot of positives’ to come out of the game against Saltash.
‘We kept the ball for long spells despite being without some key players,” he said. “I think if they had played we would have won far more easily.”
Wellington 2nd XV, who opened the season with a 34-17 away win over Bath Old Edwardians, are home to Midsomer Norton in Somerset One while Wiveliscombe 2nd XV, whose match over the weekend was postponed because of lack of officials, are home to Weston super Mare.
