THE final of Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Payne KO Cup will be between Division B leaders Scuppas and Division A team Relyon following their semi final wins last Wednesday evening, writes David Derrick.

Scuppas were seven pin winners against All Stars, a fellow Thursday side, at the Football Club as Grahame Woodward saw his side to a score of 371 by hitting 54. In reply Ian Hockey with 52 led the chase, but Scuppas kept on course for a league and cup double.

The Victoria Arms downstairs alley has had some high scoring games this season and this time it was Relyon with Mike Hutchings leading the way with 64 who prevailed with a fine team score of 444. Wardens, top of Division A, replied with 418 with Simon Hall knocking a fine 60.

Therefore it will be Scuppas v Relyon in the 2017-2018 Final on Wednesday, February 14. The venue will be decided during the league’s Captains Meeting which takes place next Tuesday, February 6, at Wellington AFC from 7.30pm.

Semi-final scores: Scuppas 371 (G.Woodward 54), All Stars 364 (I.Hockey 52); Relyon 444 (M.Hutchings 64), Wardens 418 (S.Hall 60).
