WELLINGTON went down to a 60-7 defeat away to neighbours Tiverton in Regional Two South West.
It means the Devon side completed the season’s double over Wellington, having beaten them 52-19 at the Athletic Ground in mid-September.
Tiverton, who crashed 67-12 away to leaders Weston super Mare the previous weekend, built up a 24-7 lead after 37 minutes with four tries, two of which were converted, while Mikey Taylor snapped up a try for Wellington with Johnny Clist converting.
Wellington found themselves down to 14 players five minutes into the second half when they had Will Hodgson sent off before Tiverton made it 31-7 after they were awarded a penalty try.
Now very much in the driving seat, Tiverton piled on the misery for Wellington despite stubborn resistence, and they added another try to make it 36-7 ten minutes into the second half.
Tiverton were now in full control and went on to score another four tries, two being converted.
