WELLINGTON gained a fine seven-wicket away victory over Exeter in a cricket friendly over the weekend.

Highlight of the game was an unbroken three-wicket stand of 170 between new skipper Alex Sparks (107 not out) and last year's captain Paul Short (64 not out).
