BELL Green maintained their perfect start to the season with a hard-fought win over Rebels in Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Gerald Thorne Championship.

However, champions Holywell Lake were held to a dramatic draw by Home Guard II.

Scores: Rebels 327, Bell Green 332: The Bee-Gees extended their unbeaten run with a five-pin success over Rebels at the Cottage despite a superb 56 by the home side’s Jordan Sellick. Will Essex top scored for Bell Green with 47.

Queens Legs 412, Reservists 378: Queens Legs produced a fine display to beat title contenders Reservists at the Conservative Club with captain Darren Mason steering them to victory with a massive 70. Neil Sparks hit 57 for Reservists.

Home Guard II 328, Holywell Lake 328: These sides could not be separated at the football club with Kristian Thorne knocking 49 for the home side while Alex Smith scored 52 for the Lakers.

OBA 365, Fireguard A 359: OBA sqeezed home by six pins on the upstairs alley at the Vic. Denver Clarke impressed for the home side with 55, while Fireguard’s Dan Taylor scored 61 - the highest away score of the week.

Shooters 388, Report Centre A 344: Shooters bounced back to winning form with a convincing win at the Vic. Alan Sydenham led from the front with a fine 57 for Shooters while W Bright scored 49 for the losers.

Club Rockers 315, Oaks 328: Oaks got back to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at the Institute. Steven Burge knocked 51 for the Blue Ball side, while Chris Hemmings top scored with 47 for Rockers.

Hot Shots 336, Cottage Pies 370: The Pies turned on the style to claim victory at the Conservative Club with Lee Ellis leading the charge with a superb 56. Martin Kerslake scored 46 for Hot Shots.

Chris Bullock Championship - Outsiders 375, Mowers 364: Outsiders produced the performance of the week to beat Mowers with Ian Taylor hitting a splendid 59 for the winners, while Vince Milton (Mowers) topped the alley with 60.

Ex-Servicemen 372, United Services 328: Ex-Servicemen stretched their unbeaten run, easing past United Services at the Cottage with skipper Adrian Perry leading by example with 56, while Phil John scored 49 for the losers.

King Pins 332, Scuppas 332: There was nothing to separate these teams at the football club. Josh Leebody top scored for Pins with 49, while Scuppas’ captain Chris Morter hit 46 in a match in which every pin mattered. Whether these teams see this as points dropped or gained will only be known at the end of the winter.

Foresters 415, Home Guard IV 363: Foresters were in fine form at the White Horse where they recorded a comprehensive 52-pin victory with Martyn Wyatt being the star of the show with a superb 60. Jeremy Vallance was in good form for the visitors with 57. However, Foresters were simply too strong on the night.

Nynehead Club 374, Odds and Ends 335: Nynehead Club continued their excellent start to the season with a convincing 39-pin home win over Odds and Ends. Jimmy Compton led the way for the home side with 54 while Theo Ling top scored for the losers with 46.

All Stars 358, Here 4 the Beer 369: Elliott Broom and Ben Price both hit 50s for the winners while Tony Winchester (53) was tops for All Stars.
