RESERVISTS and Bell Green moved to the top of Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Gerald Thorne Championship after champions Holywell Lake were held to a draw by Shooters in what promises to be another exciting season.

Scores: Reservists 364, OBA 328: Reservists made it three wins from three games after gaining a comprehensive 36-pin victory over OBA at the Institute with Kevin Sedgebeer hitting a stunning 63 , while Rob Billet knocked 55 for the away team.

Bell Green 389, Club Rockers 363: Bell Green maintained their strong early season form with a 26-pin win over Rockers on the upstairs alley at the Vic. Julian Jones was the leading scorer for Bee Gees with 55, while Celton Hyland scored 49 for the losers.

Holywell Lake 375, Shooters 375: The downstairs alley at the Vic was the venue for a dramatic game with the champions and Shooters playing out a high-scoring draw. Alex Smith knocked 58 for the Lakers while Antony Maidment was the star for Shooters with 54.

Relyon 365, Queens Legs 340: Relyon picked up their second win on the bounce and a good 25-pin success over Queens Legs in the upstairs/downstairs derby at the Conservative Club. Jason Hayes led the way for the Bedders with a splendid 60, while Adam Hill was tops for Queens Legs with 57.

Report Centre A 356, Cottage Pies 367: Pies survived a scare at the White Hart before coming away with an 11-pin victory. John Cottrell hit the top score of the match with a solid 54 for the home side, while Gary Escott hit 50 for the Pies.

Oaks 349, Hot Shots 330: After suffering defeat in their last game against Cottage Pies, Oaks returned to winning form with a 19-pin success with Jordan Haslehurst scoring 52 for the winners, while Gary Pepper was top scorer in the match with a fine 54 for the losers.

Rebels 357, Home Guard II 346: Chris Plant steered Rebels to victory with a hand of 53, while Kristian Thorne was the top scorer in the game with 54 for Home Guard II.

Chris Bullock Championship - Odds & Ends 363, Mowers 395: Mowers became the early leaders of the division after a 32-pin success away to Odds & Ends with Nigel Dobson being their star with 61, while Steward Floyd was tops for the losers with 52.

WRFC 319, All Stars 339: The rugby boys were ‘tackled’ for the third successive week, with All Stars winning by 20 pins - with Steve Winter hitting 49 for the All Stars. Cliff Trott knocked 47 for WRFC.

King Pins 350, Foresters 349: King Pins squeezed home by one pin against Foresters at the Football Club with Les Marke’s 52 being crucial for the winners, while Shane Powell scored 51. Foresterers’ top scorer was Rob Morgan with 49, but the away side were left to regret the odd missed pin in an exciting match which could have gone either way.

Here 4 the Beer 340, Outsiders 331: Here 4 the Beer won their first game of the season when they beat Outsiders at the Institute. Will Brewer was top scorer for H4tB with 50 while Gerry Larcombe top scored in the match with 53 for Outsiders.

Scuppas 373, Nynehead Club 332: Scuppas gained a decisive win with John Barker top scoring with 57 while Charlie Cable hit 48 for Nynehead Club.
