HERE 4 the Beer picked up ten crucial points against the current Ken Bright Cup holders Outsiders as the two sides met on the upstairs alley of the Conservative Club.

It means the end of the road for Outsiders. O. Price hit 52 for H4tB to help his side win four hands. G. Larcombe and R. Smith both hit 51 for Outsiders, who won two hands and collected the bonus points for the highest overall score.

Here 4 the Beer have been in great form so far, and they will hope to pick up a good win against Scuppas to see themselves into the final for a chance at their first piece of silverware in their short history. Scores: Here 4 the Beer 365 (4 hands), Outsiders 375 (2).

Scuppas 370 (4), King Pins (1, one hand tied): Scuppas collected eleven points from their fixture against King Pins on the downstairs alley of the Conservative Club, winning four hands and drawing another on their way to a bonus point win.

A. Newstead was the player of the week with a stunning 60 for Scuppas. St. Powell hit a well deserved 53 for King Pins to help secure some points for his side.

The win sees Scuppas pull away as group leaders as they head into the final round of fixtures, but face a big match against second placed Here for the Beer. With only three points separating the two sides in the group, it could be either side heading into the final.

Group A - Ex-Servicemen 351 (5), Odds and Ends 335 (1): Ex-Servicemen picked up twelve points as they won five hands and took the bonus points against Odds and Ends at the Cottage Inn.

K. Denslow was the top player for X-Men with 51 and G. Downs continued his reliable form for Odds and Ends with 44 to be their top scorer. The strong win puts the X-Men into third place, just eight points behind the Mowers.

It is now all poised for a big match as Mowers and X-Men clash on the downstairs alley at the Victoria Arms.

All Stars 339 (4 ), United Services 334 (2): All Stars’ Ken Bright Cup campaign ended with a solid win against United Services as they won four hands and collected the bonus points at Rockwell Green Institute.

P. Desborough’s fine form rolled on another week as he hit 54 for All Stars and D. Groves scored 51 in the United Services chase. The win sees All Stars finish with 24 points in the group and unable to qualify for the final. United Services needed to beat Odds and Ends at the Football Club, and take the maximum 14 points to have a realistic chance of qualifying for the final.
