SHOOTERS moved up to fourth in Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League’s Gerald Thorne Championship after beating Oaks by 12 pins in a back match.
In another delayed game in the same competition, Rebels were 47-pin winners against Club Rockers who are bottom.
Scores: Rebels 363, Club Rockers 316: Rebels picked up a comfortable win over struggling Club Rockers at the Cottage, with skipper John Sellick leading the scoring with an excellent 58, helping his side build a commanding total on a night where they looked in control throughout. Eddie Hooultum hit 44 for Rockers who were unable to keep pace with their rivals.
Oaks 371, Shooters 383: Shooters gained a fine away victory at the Blue Ball with Keith Harcombe steering them to victory with a superb 62 which helped the away side get over the line to secure the three points. Oaks skipper Ashley Bright scored a fine 56 - but it was not enough on the night.
