PETER Bird will again be running his successful six a side knock-out skittles competition at Wellington Football League - this being the 37th year.

Teams entered last year from Wellington, Cullompton, Tiverton, Taunton, Nynehead and Huntsham, all chasing the first prize of £300, and it is hoped that many of them will be playing in the event this summer.

Last year’s winners One Night in Bankock, captained by Ryan Marke, will be trying to retain the trophy.

There is a runners-up prize of £150, and a prize of £50 for the side with the highest team score in their first game.

Peter said this week: “I’m hoping for a full entry of 32 teams again this year. It has always proved popular with skittlers in the summer.

“I would also like to thank Wellington Football Club for allowing me to stage the competition there again this year.“
