TIVERTON Foxhounds’ annual point to point at Chipley Park, near Milverton, will be staged on Sunday, January 29, this year, starting at noon.
Last year’s event attracted 4.000 spectators, making it one of the best attended sporting events in the area.
Keith Granger, who organises the event, is proud to announce their newest sponsor, Timico, who have this season come into point-to-point racing. They also, of course, sponsor The Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Tiverton Foxhounds welcome them into joining the many loyal sponsors already connected with this meeting.
With some sponsors showing their support for the last 50 years, the local point to point event is a fantastic day out in the countryside where people can come together to socialise and enjoy the sport.
Gates normally open at least three hours before the racing starts, giving spectators plenty of time to grab a race card, study the form and catch up with friends or walk around the numerous trade stands for a bargain.
There will be a public bar and many food outlets, both hot and cold. With an estimated 4000 people expected to attend point-to-point racing is now thriving throughout the UK.
Sponsors at Chipley Park include Stags, the auctioneers, Dodson and Horrell, Exeter Racecourse, Thoroughbred Breeders Association, The Hartnoll Hotel and the Tiverton Hotel.
Admission is just £10 per person up to £30 per car if more than three. For further information visit www.pointtopoint.co.uk or call Keith Granger on 01404841223.
