TOM Merson broke the course record at the 26th Wellington Monument Bert King Memorial Road Race today (Dec 23).

The Exmouth Harriers runner won in a time of 32 minutes 49 seconds over the gruelling 6.27-mile course, beating the record by 18 seconds which had stood since 1986.
