THE long trip from Wellington to Anglesey was well worth it for local motorcycle racer Phil Webber.

Not only did he have another 100 per cent winning weekend, by being victorious in all of his four races on his GSX-R 750 in the Pre-87 production class, but Webber and his GSX-R have now won every race in the series, taking the flag at every one of his races so far this season.

This astonishing achievement now means that with 22 race wins so far, no one can catch him as there’s only six races left, so he came away from Anglesey as the official 2017 pro stock post classic champion!

As humble as ever, Phil said it was a great result from the weekend after only doing one lap in qualifying due to a chain breaking and that he’s now already starting to plan for next year’s racing. So if anyone wants to help with sponsorship please get in touch.

But even after securing the 2017 title with such resounding success, he’s still looking forward to making the trip to Pembrey Circuit, in South Wales for the next round on September 2/3, with the final round being held at his home circuit, Thruxton on October 8.

So there’s no time to celebrate, there’s a GSX-R to prepare ready to race again.
