TOOLSTATION League club Wellington have re-signed their former goalkeeper Jake Viney.

He takes over from Shay Allen, who has joined rivals Nailsea and Tickenham, and goes straight into the side for Saturday 's crucial home game against fellow sttrugglers Oldland Abbotonians.

Viney, 30, left Premier Division highflyers Bridgwater United before Christmas, having played more than 300 games for them over eight years.

Before this, he spent two-and-a-half years with Wellington, having been signed by Jamie Ward in January 2013.

Viney, who had a spell with Dorchester Town after leaving Bridgwater, said: “I started my adult football with Wellington and am excited to be returning.

"It feels like I've never been away and I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season.”

Assistant player-coach Jack Porter said: “Jake’s a top guy – on and off the pitch – whose CV speaks for itself."

“We know exactly what we’re getting with Jake and he’s champing at the bit to get back!”
