WATCHET Town went down 1-0 away to a Bishops Lydeard XI in a pre-season friendly last night (Tues).

“We were not quite at full strength and it was a more promising display than in our previous game,’ said Nick Sully, one of the club’s new three-man management team.

Watchet created a number of chances and Lewis Ahmet, last season’s top scorer, hit the woodwork towards the end.

Watchet’s next warm-up game is against Wembdon at Bridgwater College on Friday evening.

Watchet’s first match of the season in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League is away to Combe St Nicholas on Saturday, August 12.
