WELLINGTON crashed to a 5-1 home defeat against Nailsea & Tickenham in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League yesterday (Sat).

It was a disappointing result for Wellington particularly as they began brightly by taking an 11th minute lead through Sam Towler.

But the visitors hit back to lead 2-1 at half time and were 4-1 up only three minutes into the second half. They completed their one-sided victory with another goal after an hour's play.

Victory enabled Nailsea to pull off a double over Wellington this season.

Wellington's assistant player-manager Jack Porter admitted afterwards: "It was frustrating. We played as well as we have this season for the first 40 minutes of the game. I thought we played the better football.

"But in the end we were not good enough."
