WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after their surprise Boxing Day defeat by Wiveliscombe when they play away to Teignmouth in Regional Two South West today (Sat).

Wellington beat the Devon side 55-14 in mid-September, but head coach Graham Dawe warned this week: "Teignmouth will not want a repeat of that performance - they will be in our faces.

"We need to keep the ball more, and to put them under pressure."

Looking back on the loss to Wiveliscombe, he added: "It's very difficult to play up their slope and they scored some good tries. They kicked well and chased well. They boxed us in our own half throughout the opening 40 minutes."

Wellington go into the match eighth in the table, just one place above Teignmouth who have five fewer points, both sides having played the same number of games.

Wellington 2nd XV, who are lying fourth in Counties Three Somerset South, are home to Somerton and will be looking to avenge a 25-21 defeat against their rivals in late September. Wellington are lying fourth and Somerton sixth.

Wiveliscombe, whose confidence will be sky-high following their win over Wellington, play away to seventh-placed Pirates Amateurs in Counties One Western West.

Just a few weeks ago, Wiveliscombe were bottom of the table and looking doomed - but two big wins has restored belief in themselves.

Head coach Ed Lewsey said: "It was a great result for the lads against Wellington and just reward for their endeavours despite the tough first-half of the season. I hope that this gives us the confidence to press on in the second half of the season."

Wiveliscombe 2nd XV have a tough home match against third-placed Castle Cary in Counties Three Somerset South. Wiveliscombe are down in ninth spot in the division.
