WELLINGTON Squash Club first team played at home against Kings College last night and secured a comfortable win.

Barry Bartram at 1 lost 5-15, 11-15, 11-15 to Tom Rew the brother of Somerset Cricketer James Rew. Mike Broom at 2 won 13-15, 15-12, 15-13, 15-10. Chris Short at 3 won 15-7, 15-12, 15-9. Ian Jolley at 4, making a return after almost a year out and replacing Tom Hendy, won 15-6, 15-6, 15-7. Ed Barrett at 5 won 15-11, 17-15, 15-9. The final score was Wellington 15 Kings 4.

Wellington second team were again suffering from injured players with team captain Simon Buttars being incapacitated following a bite from a dog on his right arm. They were away against Wyvern 5. Keith Dancey at 1 lost 12-15, 10-15, 12-15. James Pill-Waring at 2 lost 10-15, 7-15,11-15. Guy Cox at 3 lost 8-15, 15-17, 3-15. Peter Shaw at 5 lost 9-15, 3-15, 2-15. Mo Alsuraifi at 5 lost 8-15, 6-15,4-15. The final match score was Wyvern 5 18 Wellington 0.

There are no league games next week but Wellington’s first team are away against Merriott in the next round of the Knockout Cup.
