POLICE are continuing to investigate the attempted theft of several vehicles from Chelston Motorhomes on the outskirts of Wellington.

A gang of thieves raided the business in Summerfield Way on the Chelston Business Park at about 11pm on August 23.

Thieves stole three motorhomes and drove them away, while damaging several other vehicles.

Police later recovered all three stolen vehicles after they were left in local streets.

Sergeant Jon O’Connor told councillors: “This appears to have been committed by persons from outside the area. The methods used and the level of damage caused in the execution does not suggest a high level of sophistication. All outstanding motorhomes have been recovered and potential forensic evidence seized.”
