POLICE are investigating after an alleged raid by two ‘idiots’ wearing Asda bags for masks.

It comes after a car was smashed up in Rockwell Green, on Saturday February 3, with two masked men caught on a doorbell camera disguising themselves with carrier bags.

The white Ford Fiesta is thought to have suffered damage running into hundreds of pounds, with the windscreen left badly cracked by what appears to be a heavy impact and a headlight smashed in.

Now an appeal has been issued for anybody with information that could help identify the culprits to come forward.

Posting to social media, Jo Budd, who captured the images, said: “My daughter’s boyfriend’s car was smashed up by two idiots in Westford Grange.

“They entered the estate via Rackfield before putting the Asda bags on their heads and feet. If anyone saw anything or has camera footage, please let me know. Police have been informed.”

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed inquiries were ongoing. In a statement they said: “Police are investigating after a car was damaged in Westford Grange, Rockwell Green just after 11pm on Saturday 03 February.  “Two men reportedly smashed the windscreen and light cluster of a white Ford Fiesta.  “Officers are following up lines of enquiry and reviewing CCTV and doorbell footage.  “If you have any dashcam footage of the area at the time or any other information which could help please call 101 and give the reference 5224029841.”
