GREEN-FINGERED members of the community have been presented with certificates as prize winners in this year’s Wellington Town Council allotments competition.

In the picture (from left) are allotments committee chairman Cllr Janet Lloyd, Marion Vincent and Pete Joint, from Wellington Children’s Centre, highly commended winner Mary Bradford, assistant town clerk Gill Croucher, town Mayor Bob Bowrah, best newcomer Sarah Pritchard-Wright and best cultivated plot Trevor Pritchard.

The award judges were Allan Cavill, former regional director of the National Society of Allotment Gardeners, Cllr Lloyd and Gill Croucher.
