AN EXCITING bonfire night brought the town together once again this year as roughly 1,800 attended Wellington Rugby Club’s 45th annual fireworks display.

The event was held at The Athletic Ground, the home of Wellington Rugby Club, on Wednesday, November 5, and began at 7pm, after guests began arriving at 5.30pm, where they were able to enjoy amenities at the clubhouse and bar.

Alongside a host of fireworks shooting into the sky, a bonfire was also set alight.

A spokesperson for Wellington Rugby Club said: “Thank you to all those who came out and supported the Annual Firework Display. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves and had a great evening.

“It continues to be a great community event for Wellington.”

Alongside the fireworks, the event also saw the burning of an effigy.
