AN anti-smoking blitz is to be launched against local businesses which continue to flout anti-smoking legislation.

Businesses in Wellington are being warned: comply with new anti-smoking laws or pay the penalty.

The hard-hitting message has come from council chiefs who say a large number of premises are still not complying with new smoke-free legislation six months after it was introduced.
